Mole Valley District Council as part of their Future Mole Valley project published last week outline plans for preliminary comment showing proposals for what are termed ‘Modest Extensions’ to the village boundaries.
These include updating the current village boundary (in planning terms) with existing physical boundaries (ie in line with a property boundary instead of half way through a garden). There are also suggested areas where the planners consider possibilities exist for allocating new housing. Some of these are based on suggestions from developers and some are speculative.
The Parish Council feel that it is very important these suggestions which relate to the future of Newdigate are commented on by residents before any formal response is submitted to Mole Valley. There will therefore be a public meeting to view and discuss the proposals to be put forward.
If you can’t get to the meeting then make sure you let us know your views by 5th October in time for us to include them in our response to Mole Valley which will be agreed at the next Parish Council meeting on the 8th October.
All the details are shown on the Future Mole Valley website at http://futuremolevalley.org/villages/ alternatively contact us and we’ll send you the maps.
